THE GIRL WHO BECAME LEGEND

Script and Lyrics by Sarah Saltwick Music and Additional Lyrics by Helyn Rain Messenger, Amber Quick, and Paul Sanchez

The town of Dustbin is known for two things: rules and dust, the kind you get when it doesn’t rain for years and years. One day, Raina spies a cloud in the sky—but no one believes her. Determined, the young girl embarks on a great adventure to bring the cloud back home. Along the way, she crosses paths with Calamity Jane, Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, Rip van Winkle…and a thunderstorm! If you’re looking for a tale that’ll make you believe in big dreams, tough gals, and the power of kindness, Raina’s story is right up your alley. Whether you’re young or old, get ready for a wild, heartwarming ride filled with spirited tunes.

PRAISE FOR THE GIRL WHO BECAME LEGEND

Press

Legend Press

“In a world of iPad kids and enough one-dimensional children’s entertainment to sedate them, The Girl Who Became Legend is a folksy, textured, warm theatrical experience that prioritizes kids having the space to be kids in every facet of the show.

         — Jillians Parks, DC Theatre Arts

“A spectacle of light, color, and sound…a visual delight from start to finish, it also touched the soul…a wonderful theater experience for the entire family.

         — Katie Barnett, Maryland Theatre Guide

“Under Liz Fisher’s always creative direction…Together, they form a rarified canon of highly imaginative youth-oriented theatre that also appeals to older audiences.

         — Bob Abelman, Austin Chronicle

“The creative process for THE GIRL WHO BECAME LEGEND is, in the truest sense, a collaborative artistic endeavor. And what a talented cast Fisher has assembled and collaborated with.

         — Joni Lorraine, Broadwayworld.com

“Director Liz Fisher’s imaginative staging, assisted by Zach Theatre design wizards, charms all…Fisher keeps her cast moving, Saltwick keeps characters morphing, and Zach’s designers Lisa Laretta (set and props) and Aaron Flynn (costumes) come up with striking visuals.

         — Michael Meigs, CTX Live Theatre
