THE YEOMEN OF THE GUARD

Music by Arthur Sullivan
Libretto by W. S. Gilbert

Chased into the Tower of London by a mob, entertainers Jack Point and Elsie Maynard find themselves trapped in a dark world of intrigue and disguise where brave Colonel Fairfax has been falsely condemned to death. Suspense is high, as is hope for a reprieve and happy outcomes. Someone must lose, but who? And what? Gilbert’s most nuanced dramaturgy and Sullivan’s greatest music blend to amuse, chill, and tug at the heartstrings.

Yeomen is full of surprises on many levels, from overture to opening scene to closing song. Yeomen shows off Gilbert and Sullivan’s mature talents in ways that are unique to their many collaborations.
